D-Light

D-Light explores the balance between sculptural presence and organic geometry, taking a classic triangular silhouette and executing it with architectural confidence. Designed by Klaus Todt as part of Collection 42, the coffee table pairs a grounded, substantial tabletop with a geometric base, offering a calm yet distinctive centrepiece for living spaces.

The tabletop is crafted from solid oak and finished with the traditional Shou Sugi Ban charring technique, bringing out the rich, tactile depth of the natural Oak grain. After the charring, the surface is carefully brushed and sealed with oil. This ensures a smooth and waterproof finish that highlights the oak's grain while ensuring no carbon residue is left behind.

Instead of isolated single legs, D-Light is anchored by a continuous, ebonised timber frame. The interconnected base brings a strong geometric rhythm to the design, elevating the charred tabletop while maintaining a seamless visual flow below.

The D-Light offers functional surface area alongside strong material character. It offers a new way to introduce dark, charred textures and geometric clarity to a room, proving that enduring forms can be reframed through thoughtful craftsmanship.
