The Approach

This project centred on designing a kitchen within a residential home where the architecture presented a uniquely angled and irregular footprint. The brief focused on creating a layout that responded naturally to the geometry of the space, ensuring the kitchen felt intentional, cohesive, and easy to use within the home’s distinctive form.

Careful planning allowed the joinery to follow the shifting lines of the interior, turning spatial challenges into defining design features. To reinforce this cohesive approach, imi-plus in Vintage Standard was selected as the primary surface material. Its depth, character, and refined texture introduced a sense of warmth and authenticity, while providing a consistent visual thread throughout the kitchen.

The result is a kitchen that feels grounded within its environment, balancing functional performance with a considered material palette that enhances the architectural qualities of the home.
