Welcome to Material & Form, the quarterly newsletter from LIV+.

We’ve chosen a quarterly rhythm to remain focused on substance over frequency. That means we’ll share project updates, behind-the-scenes moments, new products, and upcoming events only when there is something truly worth sharing.

In this edition, we are excited to introduce Collection 42, the new K.TODT Design furniture collection, designed and crafted by Klaus Todt in our Nelson workshop.

Collection 42: Craftsmanship Meets Material Insight

After 16 years of running Living Design in New Zealand, Klaus Todt is now also returning to his first passion: furniture. Drawing on 40 years of design practice and his formal German training as a Schreinermeister, K.TODT Design explores furniture as functional sculptural pieces.

Collection 42 reduces forms to their absolute minimum, letting materials and detail speak. Bridging German precision with traditional Japanese hand-crafting techniques, each piece challenges expectations, turning structural requirements into quiet, sculptural moments designed to outlast trends and be lived with for generations.

Where to Experience the Collection This October

Seeing and touching a piece in person offers an experience that photography alone cannot capture. This month, you have two opportunities to view the collection and meet Klaus in person.

Free 1-on-1 Design Consultations with Klaus Todt

As part of Residium Build + Design Day on 17 October, Klaus is offering a limited number of free 1-on-1 design consultations.

These sessions are an opportunity to bring your plans, material questions, or project ideas and receive practical advice on joinery, material selection, and custom spatial elements.
